How to Prepare for Tree Service

A little site preparation can make tree work safer and more efficient. The goal is to clear the work zone, communicate hidden constraints, and make sure the scope is understood before equipment arrives.

Move vehicles and portable items

Relocate cars, trailers, patio furniture, toys, and other movable items away from the work area when requested.

Open access

Unlock gates and identify the widest route to the tree or stump. Mention steps, narrow passages, septic components, irrigation, retaining walls, or soft ground.

Keep pets and children inside

Tree work involves moving equipment, falling material, ropes, saws, and noisy machinery. Keep non-workers out of the work zone.

Confirm the scope

Before work starts, confirm which tree or stump is included, what branches are being pruned, what debris will be removed, and whether stump grinding is part of the job.
